Our Rare Breeds

We have a wide range of Rare Breeds to see when you visit us.

Jasmine one of our Golden Guernsey's

Bagot Goats. These are classed as critical by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST). We now have 12 females including 11 females that should all have Kids this year by our Bagot Billy Odds Farm Monty (Garlic to us!) or another rare blood line in the form of LoLo our second male bagot.
 
Golden Guernsey Goats. We have five females and a Billy called Byron.
 
We have some cute Grey Face Dartmoor Sheep.
 
New in 2007 were a couple of Leicester Long wool ewes. They were brought in lamb and now have a lamb each. We have since bought a ram from a rare bloodline.
 
We also have some Jacob ewes and a big four horned Ram called Sam for people to see.
 
We Breed and keep three types of Chicken. Our main breed are the Ixworth chicken that is very rare. We now have a laying flock of 15 and three Cockerels. We also have small groups of Derbyshire red caps and Scotts Grey.
 
The biggest birds we have are a trio of Crollwitzer Turkeys.

Ixworth Hens

Pigs. We now have three types of rare breed pig. We have two Gloucetershire old spot sows, from the Princess Mary line and from the Star Antionett line.
We also have two Large Black sows. These are rarer than the Old spots and classed as vunerable by the RBST.  Our boar is a middle white, a breed the farm has kept since 1899. He is from the Captin line.

We are now open every day in June except Mondays. Entry fee will be £2 per person. (under 36mths free)
