Open to the public to help make conservation and learning fun.

The Rare Breeds Centre opened in mid 2004 to promote conservation and education in rare breeds.

We are a 900 acre Hadleigh Farm that has been owned and farmed by the Salvation Army for over a hundred years. This is a mixed comercial farm aiming to demonstrate conventional farming as well as organic farming with 600 acres of crops and 300 acres of organic grassland and Hereford cattle. We are members of Organic Farmers and Growers (OF&G) organic certification UK2. We own and farm all the land surrounding Hadleigh Castle.

A visit to our farm gives you the chance to learn about, get close to and even feed a range of rare breed Goats, Sheep, Poultry and Pigs.

There is a whole host of exciting things to see and do and countryside to enjoy for individuals and families alike.

Its also a fun and safe farm visit for groups of all ages lead by Access to Farms trained staff. We now have teacher packs and resources tailor made for the farm by the Salvation Army Schools and Colleges Dept. For more details please contact us.
